It was published by Steel Authority of India in 1998 and released in New Delhi by Shri Navin Patnaik, the Union Minister for Steel. Unfortunately, Garney Nyss passed away a few months earlier, though he did see the advance copies of the book. (This publication is now out of print.)Barry O’Brien has, in his personal collection, many more remarkable photographs of landmarks, streets, common people and mood shots of the India of the 1930s, 40s and 50s, from the Himalayas to Madras Talkies, and Mumbai’s Marine Drive to the Darjeeling-bound toy train taking the turn at the Batasia Loop.
