RBIQ 2012
A 32 city national level inter-school quiz for teenagers in the 15 to 18 age-group organized by Reserve Bank of India between August 2012 to December 2012 to create an awareness and an interest about banking and finance, the history and role of RBI and other banking institutions, economics, trade and commerce, accounting, Current Affairs, personalities and events that have contributed to the greatness of India over the last century. The four zonal finals and the national final were shown in Zee-Business channel. The total concept, research, content development, supervision and presentation of the quiz were done by Barry OBrien and his company Heritage Resources Pvt Ltd. Barry along with his co-quizmaster Ryan Shaw did all the 32 city level pre-quarterfinals and quarterfinals, while Barry was the quiz master for four zonal semi-finals and the national final which was shot in the prestigious National Library auditorium and subsequently telecasted in Zee Business channel. The total exercise was a super success and generated huge response and enthusiasm among the students as well as the general audience.
Techno India Friends School Quiz with Barry OBrien - A 15-episode, 30-minute, once-a- week popular bi lingual quiz on 91.9 Friends FM radio, involving students of classes 6, 7 & 8 from schools of Kolkata. For students of the leading schools of Assam aired on NEWSLIVE and RANG, two of the most popular channels of the North-East. (for schedule, see Home Page) Friends School Quiz a popular bilingual (English and Bengali) radio quiz on Friends FM. It had the highest listenership when it was aired during the first half of 2010. Barry Sir and Biswanath Sir have researched and conducted the following quizzes: Medha Judhdho a popular bilingual (Bengali and English) TV quiz on Akash Bangla, involving more than 500 schools and 3000 students, in 2008. Syllabus Barry Sir-er Shathe a popular bilingual (Bengali and English) TV quiz on Zee Alpha-Bangla, involving more than 200 schools, in 2005. The Green Teen Quiz (on the environment) for schools across the country involving more than 2500 schools; telecast on DD-II in 1997-98. The National Parliamentary Quiz for college and university students; organized by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting; directed by Kishwar Ahluwalia Desai; telecast on DD I in 1997.
